Easter at Grandma and Grandpa Baxter's

Finally -- a real winter in Union!

It happened. Amidst the hype of planetary warming (still could be true, I won't discount it), we finally had snow that came and stayed for awhile in Union.

We first decided we should enjoy the lovely weather by taking a Sunday evening stroll in our bare feet.
Later, the boys were introduced to what Julie lovingly calls their winter clothes. Sam could only move one arm, so I think they're much closer to straight jackets.

After a romp in the snow, the boys watched the youngest of our local deer herd eat our young birch tree.

Then it was time for the strip tease act and pose for the scrapbooks. Bean, with his blue eyes, is pretty cute.

With so many low-energy activities engaged in, it was time to demonstrate his chops on Tyler's drum set.

This is the two-three-four! pre-jam drumstick clacking.

Nicko rumbles, he bumbles, he looks for the right groove...

Then, in a sudden twist of academic rigor, Lou dons the acoutrements of the wise and brings sanity back to the house.

It didn't take long before we all got sick of being in the house all winter, so we all got sick, starting with Cat. And now, though we're over all the colds and flus and whatever else we had, the chicken pox have invaded the house. Will it never end?

So, here's to feeling good. Here's to being healthy. Here's to having the energy to get up in the morning. Happy SPRING BREAK next week!
